On December 3 & 4th, leaders in NYC’s child welfare field, tech sector, government, non-profits, and other agents of change will come together to “hack” NYC foster care system’s most pressing challenges with the goal of improving the lives of 9,000 children & youth along with foster parents, and social workers.
The NYC Foster Care Technology & Policy Hackathon is a two-day event @ eBay New York, which will bring together leaders in NYC’s child welfare field, including youth along with the tech sector, government, non-profits, and other agents of change to develop innovative tech solutions like smartphone apps, social networking tools, and engaging digital resources. At the same time, youth will take the lead and identify ways to transform foster care policies.
CHALLENGES
On December 3 and 4, the tech and child welfare community will come together to #HackNYCFosterCare. Hacking teams will quickly develop solutions that will tackle 6 challenging issues facing youth, foster parents, and social workers.
